GOOGLE REVIEW CHALLENGE

It’s no secret that one of the best ways to attract new patients is through reviews, and when it comes to online reviews, there’s no better source of feedback than Google. Google reviews make 76% of online search engines followed by a distant second yelp with about 15% of the market share.

One of the great benefits of Google reviews is that the practice owner has the option to influence the business ranking in a major way by actually getting positive reviews from his patients.

In this article we describe 3 Strategies that generated 54 five star new Google reviews in a 2 month period.

These 3 strategies are fun, easy to implement, and best of all, very budget friendly when you take into consideration the additional revenue created by the new leads generated with the increased traffic on Google.

STRATEGY 1

PATIENT INCENTIVE

To promote the reviews in our office we started a game in which we raffled an electric bicycle between all patients that placed Google reviews. Each patient would get as many chances to win as stars were given to the office. So a patient that placed a 5 star review would get 5 raffle tickets. 

The raffle took place once we reached 1000 stars.

Patients were informed of the raffle on the day of their appointment and in our monthly E-Newsletter.

One aspect that was important to us was that patients were encouraged to leave reviews in order to help spread the word and help others get the benefit of a healthy smile and not just because of the raffle. The raffle entries were just an added benefit to them leaving feedback.

STRATEGY 2

TEAM MEMBER INCENTIVE

This strategy in my opinion, was key to accomplishing the results we obtained.

To encourage team members to ask patients for reviews, we created an incentive package designed to reward their efforts along the process and one big incentive for the team member who would get more reviews at the end of the quarter.

The game consisted on rewarding review milestones with incentives to encourage our team members to try to reach the next reward.

Periodic updates were posted in our office group chat to keep team members motivated on the progress and to show them how close they were to the next reward.

STRATEGY 3

GOOGLE REVIEWS QR CODE

We created a QR code that lead patients to our Google review page.

These QR code was included in all possible channels of communication.

This campaign was developed by a marketing firm and taught in a seminar format to a select group of dental practice owners that belonged to a mastermind. Masterminds are well known to charge members 1000s in order to share effective business strategies among the few participants that belong to the group.

The campaign has since been improved with additional actions and effectively implemented in hundreds of dental offices with great results.
